| GNLF chief Subash Ghishing to Support TMC candidate Bhaichung Bhutia in the Lok Sabha election from Darjeeling Constituency |
With this, now TMC has become strong contender and might win the election too. The division of the vote in the hill constituencies had made difficult for all the candidates and Ghishing’s decision might turn the situation on TMC’s favour.
GNLF on the social networking site wrote – “Its a diplomatic decision by Shree Subash Ghising to support the candidate fielded by TMC. Everybody knows that BJP will come to power in the central( according to the media and election survey). But the main thing is BJP alone cannot form a govt in the center. It will be a coalition govt, BJP will definitely ask TMC’s support either from inside and outside and TMC on the other hand will extend its support to BJP as Bengal is in huge debt, here TMC will bargain with BJP for special package. Now the point is if GNLF support TMC in this general election, even the party will bargain with the Bengal govt in implementing SIXTH SCHEDULE in Darjeeling areas. So it is to be noted that if SIXTH SCHEDULE is implemented then the benefit will be to the people of Darjeeling district. So what ever decision was taken today by the GNLF central committee is a right decision because in politics if you are not diplomatic then you will be out of race. Emotion doesn’t count here you should be practical.”
