Talking to reporters, Kurseong town TMC committee president Sunil Pradhan said the rally was staged to highlight various issues related to the Kurseong municipality and a deputation was also submitted to Kurseong Municipality chairman Samirdip Blon.
He said the deputation was served to underscore basic needs such as drinking water, garbage, drainage system, street lighting, sewerage system, road maintenance, congestion in lanes and by-lanes of town as well as contractual tenders and enlistment issues with the municipality. Pradhan claimed the chairman has responded positively well and has assured to look into the issues raised in earnest.
Kurseong Municipality councilor Subash Pradhan noted the hill TMC must cooperate with the civic body since it is the ruling dispensation in the state given the fact that securing funds is very important to resolve existing problems. At the same, he urged the party not to politicise its demands and appealed to join hands in promoting development.
