Gorkha Crusader GM Rai Dies At 55 |
Acclaimed Indian Gorkha Leader cum Gorkha Community Crusader who had been struggling for the Political Rights and Identity of Indian Gorkha Community Shri Garja Man Rai left for heavenly abode today at 12:10 PM , he dies after prolonged illness at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. Shri Rai is remembered as the major foundation pillar of Sikkim Democratic Front SDF Party way back in 1993. He also had been serving as the President of Sikkim Gorkha Prajatantrik Party SGPP. His sudden demise has left a very big void among the prominent figures of Gorkha Community which cannot be refilled, the community feels a massive irreparable loss.
Family informed that Shri Rai’s body will be brought to Singtam tomorrow on 14 Sep, on 15 Sep the funeral will take place at bank of river Teesta.
In the other hand after meeting the aggrieved family members at Singtam, the Ex CM NB Bhandari met in an accident near Singtam at place Shantinagar. Luckily Bhandari escaped the acccident with minor injure in his head along with his driver who was also injured. Bhandari was shifted to CRH Tadong, he will be discharged tomorrow is reported.
