A GJM delegation led by Shri Bimal Gurung, Shri Roshan Giri, Shri Swaraj Thapa, Shri PT Ola, Shri Trilok Chand Roka and Shri Diwakar Gurung met Shri Uddhav Thackrey, President Shiv Sena at the histroric mayor’s bungalow in Mumbai.
The GJM delegation briefed Shri Uddhav Thackrey about the demand for a separate state of Gorkhaland.
The delegation told him that historically Darjeeling has never been a part of Bengal. It is different from Bengal in terms of culture, language and even geography. Ethnologically, Gorkhas do not have anything common with the people of Bengal. Gorkhas have shed their blood for the freedom of the country and hope that they will be given due justice through creation of a separate state of Gorkhaland.
Shri Uddhav Thackrey said that he supports the long pending demand of the Gorkhas of Gorkhaland as the Gorkhas have contributed immensely to the nation and that’s why the demand of Gorkhaland is a just and fair demand.

He said his party and his MPs are with the Gorkhas and the demand of Gorkhaland.
Bimal Gurung has invited Shri Uddhav Thackrey and his MPs to Darjeeling and he has agreed to come in the near future.
He also said that he would send his MPs for rallies and dharnas for Gorkhaland in Delhi in the future.
Shri Uddhav Thackrey has assured to help and provide assistance with regard to floriculture and film industry in GTA Area.
